I know, it's not even mid-May and I'm talking about an event in August. So, just get out your calendar and highlight the dates August 19-21 to be in Mammoth for the Mammoth Festival. This will be an alpine celebration of good music by Goo Goo Dolls/Michelle Branch/ Parachute and more, fine wine, good friends, good times ......
Here are the details:
Thursday August 18th: The highest Winemaker Dinner in California at 11.053 feet. Five gourmet courses will be served featuring wine by Justin Winery. Starts at 6:30pm. Gondola opens at 6pm.
Friday August 19th: Live music at the Village and sip samples from various vintners during the Wine Walk in The Village. 6-9pm
Saturday August 20th: Sam's Wood Site will have live music from 12-9pm.
Wine Tasting from more than 40 vintners from 1-5pm.
Picnic in the Pines, with an outdoor food court, featuring a sampling of Mammoth's best restaurants from 12-6pm.
Art Expo featuring crafts and fine art by Sierra artisans from 12-6pm.
Sunday August 21st: Champagne brunch and live music at Hyde Lounge in The Village from 9-11am.
